The Varsity history: the original Varsity was opened in 1928 on a 70' by 120' lot with a white picket fence, by a man named Frank Gordy. Through his dedication to freshness, superior quality, advanced technology, and serving the best food fast, he gained a reputation that is known worldwide. The Varsity has hosted well-known people from the entertainment industry, the sports industry, the Governor's mansion, the White House, as well as visitors from all over the globe.

"My family always called a visit to The Varsity "getting your oil changed." The food is greasy and not healthy but so very delicious! If facing the registers, go to order at a counter near the left end because the lines are shorter than toward the right. The chilicheese burger is amazing and so are the fresh cut onion rings. Be sure to grab a free varsity paper hat for a picture! The location is very convenient to downtown Atlanta attractions and a short drive to Midtown."
